After getting our two new additions yesterday, and after the spate of bad luck we had recently, me and ned considered getting some ratty insurance. I thought it would be a good idea to share quotes and info on ratty insurance as well as opinions and preferences.

We contacted two insurance companies.
The first was Pet Plan. They quoted £13.70 per rat, per month for £2000 cover per year each. OR £13.45 for both rats and £2000 cover for the both of them.
The second was CavyRescue. They quoted £27.40 for all four of our rats with £2000 cover each. (note that the double price is for double the rats).
The excess for both was about £45.
We decided that, based on our vet bills compared to the price per year of the insurance, that we would rather pay our own way.
